Brief Description of the Individual LogoS Enterprise Modules

LogoS Basis

LogoS Basis contains all functions for a paper-based warehouse for any number of clients, depositors, storage locations and bin locations. The Basis module provides the basis for all add-on modules through supplementary modules. It also forms the basis of radio data handling.

LogoS Basis
basically combines different modules: order management for goods receipts, goods issues and stock transfers, automated bin location allocation as well as an extensive stock management including statistical tools. They support various parametrizable warehousing strategies.

LogoS Key Performance Indicators

LogoS KPI - Cockpit
LogoS Key Performance Indicators contains various module groups designed for the monitoring and controlling of a warehouse as well as for the analysis of different, in part freely definable KPI.

The monitoring of day-to-day operations can be carried out in LogoS via vast control station functionalities which, in combination with LogoS Cockpit, facilitates a detailed overview over the processing statuses. The warehouse activity monitor ensures an online overview over the orders and their processing statuses.

LogoS Cockpit
supports a clear preparation of KPI by means of graphics and diagrams, allowing the control station to simultaneously monitor occupancy rate, order processing status and personnel resources status at a glance.


LogoS Document

LogoS Document is the paper-based warehouse management system. All processes are controlled and monitored via documents.

Following basic functionalities, inter alia, are equipped with documents:

LogoS List & Label

LogoS has an extensive List & Label print module, which is fully integrated via the external document designer ‘List &Label’ by Combit Software GmbH.
This module gives the user full control on client level over the design of layout and content of the documents and labels (goods entry and dispatch labels, delivery notes, package content lists, etc.) as well as over the definition of times of printing.

All fields contained in the LogoS database can be output by this designer. Including embedded logos and images. Additionally, labels and documents can be printed right during the process in the handling of radio data.

Shipping System serves the pooling of orders regarding inbound or outbound transports. For the optimization of tours and hence the adjustment of the warehouse towards the requirements of up- and downstream transports and the connection to the networks of CEP and transport service providers.

This set of modules contains specifically different package station handlings, a tour management and transport planning, a Dock and yard management, an extensive packing material management and the connection of different CEP and transport service providers via RDT.


LogoS Stacker Control and Picking System

Stacker Control and Picking System is a system for the paper-free and online control of all processes in the warehouse using RDT terminals or voice-controlled devices.  

This guarantees an ideal interaction between movement requests for to-bin, from-bin and stock transfers under consideration of double cycles and vehicle restrictions.

This context allows for a more effective distance- and cost-related allocation of movement requests. The permanent processing avoids empty runs, transit and transport times are optimized and a higher stacker utilization does not remain a pipe dream, but turns into a regular service option.

LogoS Online Radio Data Transmission

LogoS Online Radio Data Transmission
LogoS Online radio data transmission controls all operational processes by means of a paper-free, wireless LAN-based radio data system. The process handling is realized by using radio data terminals and handheld scanners.

Character oriented ASCII terminals as well as graphical terminals in all common sizes are supported.


LogoS Pick by Voice

Pick by Voice is implemented in LogoS as an add-on module for the wireless LAN-based radio data handling. The system can be run in parallel during operation. A specific configuration is not necessary since all voice dialogs have been implemented analogous to the visual terminal dialogs.

The control of logistical processes via Pick by voice is to be considered if steps in the picking process can be reduced since the employees don’t have to read pick information on picking lists or terminals but can perceive and confirm them by voice.  

This has the advantage of not being bound to a paper- or terminal-based work, but to have both hands free for the picking process. This results in an enhanced mobility and a smoother flow in the picking process which is thus significantly accelerated.

LogoS Pick by Light
LogoS Pick by Light is realized as an add-on module for the zone-related picking. The system can be used in parallel with any other picking system also for one single order.  

The distinctive advantage of a picking process controlled via Pick by light is its tremendous efficiency and precision in the from-bin transfer process. The localization of the from-bin transfer bin is realized using a lamp, and a dynamic display informs about the respective quantity to be withdrawn.

LogoS RFID is considered an add-on module for the output of labels. The latter have an integrated transponder and serve as a system for the automatic identification of packages.

The RFID modules can be run in parallel and complementary to all other picking systems. The implementation has been carried out in accordance with the GS1 guidelines for EPC.

LogoS Production is the planning and control system for the production in the warehouse. The system is designed for the planning of production resources, replenishments and the control of the production itself.

Typical applications are the production of displays and sets, the manufacturing of finished and semi-finished products as well as the production supplies and the disposal of production waste.


LogoS Evaluation and Invoicing

LogoS Invoicing is designed for the evaluation of costs regarding logistical business processes. It is possible to define conditions for handling and rental services which leads to an automatic evaluation. Special benefits which are not to be generated automatically can be defined manually.

The automatically generated evaluation results in an invoicing equally to be defined automatically with the output of the respective documents. Via a default interface, the invoice data can be transmitted to a financial accounting system.

LogoS Dangerous Goods Management
Warehousing of dangerous substances is subject to applicable regulatory requirements in strict accordance with statutory legislation and regulations. The latter apply to the to-bin transfer control process in order to meet the requirements regarding the mixed storage of dangerous goods as well as to the documentation of the stored substances.      

Warehousing of substances with dangerous properties in warehouses where multiple substances are stored is a highly complex and challenging task and must meet extremely high safety requirements. Two different fields must be optimized in such warehouses:    
• Firstly: An efficient process design which ensures an optimal utilization of existing resources and capacities
• Secondly: Applicable safety regulations and environmental regulations regarding the system operation must be rigorously respected

LogoS Dangerous Goods Management tries to bring in line those two aspects in warehousing.
