We welcome you to our website and we appreciate that you are showing interest in our enterprise by browsing this website. Gigaton GmbH takes the protection of personal data very seriously. In order to make you feel comfortable with regard to your personal data, we would like to provide transparency about the use of your data, i.e. what happens to the according data and which security measures are adopted. Furthermore, we would like to inform you about your rights established by the German law concerning the processing of this data.

  2. Processing of Personal Data

    Data Sent by Your Browser

    When browsing our websites, we will only collect the data that is automatically sent by your Internet browser to our web server. This is the following data which is required to ensure the performance of the website and to guarantee stability and security: IP address of the user (internet protocol address), date and time of access, content of the request (specific page), access status / HTTP status code, the actual transmitted data volume, website from which the request is called, browser, operating system and its interface, language, browser version and type.
    This data does not allow for any conclusions to individual persons. This data will be saved for a short period in so-called server log data due to reasons of technical security (prevention of attacks). The described data processing is compliant to Art. 6 (1 lit. f) GDPR (processing is necessary for safeguarding justified interests of the Controller).

    You can contact the specific compartments using the provided e-mail links. There is no disclosure of personal data to third parties in this context. The data is exclusively used for the processing of the conversation.
    By using this option, the data will be transferred unencrypted, which is why it cannot be excluded that unauthorized third parties also read this data whilst it is being transferred. However, you will always have the possibility to use alternative means of communication (such as mail or fax) which provide more security.
    The data processing in the course of a transmission by an e-mail is compliant with Art. 6 (1 lit. b) GDPR (the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract).

    Our website contains - clearly identifiable - links to the websites of other companies. We have no influence on the contents of any such links to other providers. Therefore, we cannot provide any guarantee or accept any liability for these contents. The respective provider or operator is responsible for the content on their page. The linked pages were checked for any legal irregularities at the time of the establishment of the link, and no illegal contents were recognizable at that point of time. However, it is not feasible for us to permanently monitor the contents of linked websites without any concrete indications of a breach of the law. 2. Data We Process About You

Direct Contact
If you wish to contact us via Messenger or Direct Message on the respective social network, we generally process your username, which you use to contact us, and may also store other data you provide (e.g., your name/address if we ask for your information), insofar as this is necessary to process/respond to your request. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller). Insofar as the processing relates to the initiation of a contractual relationship, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party).

Statistical usage data we receive from social networks
In the case of Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, we automatically receive daily statistics about our accounts via the functionalities Facebook Insights, Instagram Insights, and LinkedIn Insights/Analytics. These statistics include, among other things, the total number of page views, likes, information on page activity and post interactions, reach, video views, and information on the proportion of men and women among our fans/followers.
The statistics contain only aggregated data that cannot be linked to individual persons. You cannot be identified by this data.

What data the social networks process about you / Your rights with regard to the social networks.
To view the content of our fan pages or accounts, you do not need to be a member of the respective social network, and therefore a user account for the respective social network is not required.
Please note that when you access a social network, it collects and stores data from website visitors even if they don't have a user account (e.g., technical data to display the website to you) and uses cookies and similar technologies, over which we have no control. Details can be found in the privacy policies of the respective social network (see the corresponding links at the end of this section).

If you wish to interact with the content on our fan pages/accounts, e.g., by commenting on, sharing, or liking our posts, participating in contests or similar promotions we host on the fan pages/accounts, or contacting us via messenger functions, prior registration with the respective social network and the provision of personal data are required.

We have no control over the data processing carried out by social networks when you use them. To the best of our knowledge, your data is stored and processed primarily in connection with providing the services of the respective social network, as well as for analyzing user behavior (using cookies, pixels/web beacons, and similar technologies). This analysis is used to display interest-based advertising both within and outside the respective social network, and for advertising and marketing purposes. It cannot be ruled out that your data may also be stored by the social networks outside the EU/EEA and shared with third parties.
